What the catalog is

/calculators/ is the public catalog of execution calculators. Premium athletes (direct paid or coach granted) can run every calculator. Free athletes see them but cannot save outputs.

How outputs flow into race plans

When you run a calculator from inside the race planning wizard, the outputs are saved to that race and surface on the brief automatically. Running a calculator standalone produces a one-off result you can save to your account.

Saving when no athlete was selected

Calculators opened straight from a dashboard link or a bookmark sometimes have no athlete attached. That no longer blocks saving: the Save dialog offers a Save for athlete picker (coaches see their roster). Picking an athlete only sets who the result saves to — everything you already entered stays exactly as it is.

Tyre pressure — corrected August 2026

The tyre-pressure calculator's model was rebuilt on 5 Aug 2026. The old one was linear in load ÷ width, but tyre drop scales with load ÷ width², so it was only ever right around 32 mm: it under-inflated narrow tyres badly (a 25 mm tubed setup came out ~25 psi light, a 23 mm ~34 psi light) and ran slightly high on 40 mm gravel.

If you noted pressures from this tool before that date, re-run it. A 75 kg rider on 25 mm now sees roughly 77 psi front / 98 rear where the old version said 59 / 72. Wide tyres barely changed — the correction was anchored on the one width the old curve already got right.

As always these are starting points: they assume ~15% tyre drop, and tubeless or hookless rims have their own limits printed on the rim.

Tyre pressure — three further fixes, August 2026

Wet now actually changes the number on hookless rims. The hookless ETRTO limit used to be applied last, after the wet reduction, so any rider whose base pressure exceeded that limit saw wet and dry give an identical result: the reduction was being clamped away. The limit is now applied to the base pressure first, so the safety ceiling still holds and the wet reduction moves the result below it. Dry pressures are unchanged. Example: a TT rider at 88 kg on 28 mm hookless now sees 64 psi dry and 59 wet, where before both read 64.

The "capped" warning now tells the truth. It was checking against the hard rim limit when a lower soft limit had already clamped the value, so it never appeared and nothing explained why the number was lower than expected. If the rim limit is what is holding your pressure down, the tool now says so. Worth reading as a signal: if you are being capped, your tyre is probably narrow for your weight, and going wider will let you run the pressure the model actually wants.

Results update as you change inputs. Previously the numbers only refreshed when you pressed Calculate, so changing a dropdown appeared to do nothing. Any change now recalculates once results are on screen.

Tyre pressure — the speed input has been removed

The Average Speed dropdown is gone. Measured across its whole range it moved the recommendation by at most 0.75 psi, and by nothing at all below 30 km/h, so it rounded away in almost every case while implying speed had been accounted for.

Speed does genuinely affect optimal pressure, but how much depends on the road surface (close to nothing on smooth tarmac, meaningful on rough), so a single per-km/h number cannot represent it honestly. It will return once it has been calibrated against real field testing. Nothing you previously entered changes: pressures are the same as before except in the very top speed band, where they may read 1 psi higher.
